About

Researcher with over a decade of experience in applied research for industry and academia. My research is generally in the sphere of Internet of Things (IoT) and Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), where I am author and co-author on over 30 IEEE/ACM publications, and named inventor on 6 US patents. I’m currently a Senior Director at the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) in Abu Dhabi, where I explore topics around intelligent and resilient networked embedded systems, including: low-power wireless communications, localization, and embedded AI.

I received my PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bristol and an MEng in Computer and Electronic Systems from The University of Strathclyde. In between the MEng and the PhD I spent some time with research labs at Thales Research and Technology and Toshiba’s Bristol Research and Innovation Laboratory.
